SERVICES
Teens (13-17)
I dedicate a portion of my practice to working with teens experiencing depression, anxiety, self-harm, intense self-criticism, and trouble with healthy relationships. This is a crucial stage of life when we form important ideas about who we are, how we relate to others, and, most importantly, how we relate to ourselves, and I consider it an honor to be with teens as they navigate these waters.
Individual adults
I enjoy providing individual counseling for adults experiencing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, shame, self-criticism, anger, grief, and problems in relationships. I like working with anything from mild depression or anxiety to complex trauma. I work with people from many different backgrounds in a caring and affirming way. Your cultural and spiritual traditions (if you have any) are welcome here.
Couples
I have a limited number of spots in my schedule to work with couples who want to stay together but who feel stuck in communication patterns that are frustrating and unsatisfying. Does it feel like you are having the same argument again and again? I am trained in Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO), a couples modality that targets the patterns that keep you stuck in the same place. I do not at this time see couples who are very high conflict.
High achievers
I also dedicate a portion of my practice to working specifically with high-achieving teens, their families, and high-achieving adults. I spent many years in academia in my first career, and I have a deep and personal understanding of the special anxieties that come with focusing on achievement as a measure of your self-worth.
FEES
As of January 2025, I charge $170 for a standard 50-minute session and $250 for an 80-minute session. I am an out-of-network provider, which means you pay for your session at the time of service and I can provide you with a document called a superbill that you submit to your insurance for partial reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider to ask what they reimburse for out-of-network providers. Some insurance plans do not cover out-of-network providers at all, and some plans might require that you meet a certain deductible before coverage begins. Reimbursement rates vary and are sometimes based on what kind of license your provider has. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
I have a limited number of sliding scale spots in my practice. If you think we would be a good fit, but you do not have out-of-network benefits and you do not have access to wealth, please email me and I can let you know about my current sliding scale availability.
Read about the No Surprises Act here. You are entitled to a good faith estimate of how much your treatment will cost. I will not be raising my rates in 2025.
